Tour de Belitong UGGp

29th of November is my trip to Belitong UGGp. This time it was all about maritime, rocks, and island. @bintanghermawan as the chairman of @begerumun brought me to see the Nam Salu Pit, a geosite that was from human lead(timah) excavation and was preserved to be one of the natural geo heritage. We know that Belitong island is one of the lead center in the world, with 90% of Indonesian Lead production is from Belitong. As one of the geopark concept from SDG, conservation, Nam Salu has proved its hardwork to change the orientation of the geosite from exploitation to conservation. We came along as well to Tanjung Kelayang Geosite, one of the most iconic geotourism place that Belitong has. It made of huge Adamelite rocks, with grey-most color and holocrystaline crystal. We can also island hopping to several islands( I travelled to the outmost island, called Pulau Lengkuas) with its iconic mercusuar.

Above all, two full days in Belitong will never be enough. However, youth in Belitong shows their enthusiasm and spirit to improve, with the presence of geopark, we believe youth will be the right agent of change to educate citizen nearby to know more on geo, bio, and culture diversity that exist and grow in the place where they live.

If you come to Belitong UGGp, you definitely should try Mie Belitong! One of the best noodles in Indonesia. It is served with seafood and thick gravy and blended spices. Makannye kite!
